We had a wonderful day painting on Grenadier Island today, including the daring rescue of a floating plastic bag of pigments! The weather and scenery were spectacular and the company terrific. Thanks, Sian and Glen!
Sheila Goertzen had two paintings accepted to the Perivale Gallery "In the Spirit of Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven" Show, and one has already sold. Congratulations, Sheila.
Today members who were not holidaying with family met for some plein air painting and a potluck in Alison's lovely garden. It's possible that more chatting than painting took place, but it was a beautiful day and wonderful food...
Margaret Ebdon and Sheila Goertzen have been invited to display their art for the months of July and August at Little Sisterz, Spencerville, ON. Contact Margaret at [email protected] and Sheila at [email protected]. Spencerville TNR Cat Rescue will receive 20% of all art sales. Come out and enjoy!
There were only four plein air painters at Hardy Park yesterday, because many of the usual suspects were setting up in Gallery 32 for the weekend art show, but we had a very enjoyable time and will return at some point later when all the members are free. Here are some of the views, including two tall ships, here for the Tall Ships Weekend. (Sorry - the usual photographer forgot to take the usual photos of the painters and their work.)
Belia Brandow, Pat Markovich, Solange Leman, Sheila Goertzen, Barbara Patrick, Colleen O'Connell and Jan Traversy are part of the Gallery 32 Show, at the Arts Hub at St. John's Church, 32 Park Street, Brockville. Open June 25 and 26. Here are some photos of the wonderful art...
We had a wonderful two days doing an Abstract Landscape workshop with Debra Krakow. We learned a lot, laughed a lot, and really enjoyed the new ideas and the company, but two days of intensive painting takes a lot of stamina! Early to bed tonight!
